Alongside Time Travelling, the Minster Children’s Education Department organises many other events for schools as part of their annual programme. You can download our full programme for the academic year below.
During the year we run a range of special events:
Christmas and Easter Festival Days: We use the beautiful setting of Southwell Minster to explore these great Christian festivals. Through drama, art and music the children learn how and why Christians celebrate the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus.
The children enter into the activities of the days with great enthusiasm and leave with cards and decorations they have made during the day.
Stepping Out: Our annual Year 6 day has become very popular over the last few years, especially as Footprints Theatre Trust join us for the day, providing a fantastic performance and drama workshop for the children. This event gives Year 6 children an opportunity to reflect on their time and primary school, consider who they are and who they would like to be. Their contributions to the opening and closing worship sessions never fail to move us.
Tailor made: a day to suit an individual school's curriculum requirements. This may include modules on faith, building, church and The Bible and a range of workshops. Please see our programme for more details (downloadable below).

Narnia: October 2008 saw our wonderful event based on "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. Over 3 days we welcomed 600 school children, and on the Saturday 500 adults and children came for our family day. They joined in with craft, a special labyrinth, face painting and procession. Characters from the story were there to talk to children and for photo opportunities.

Look out for more family learning days in the future. |
