Sponsored Stroll
20th October 2011
Recently,
on 19th September,
about 25 of us completed a sponsored stroll in aid of
TT. We had lovely weather as we did the stroll which was just over 3 miles. We have
raised £1070 plus gift aid.
Conference Reports
30 volunteers came along to the Great Hall on 9th October where we heard three great speakers and ate yummy cake. Nick spoke about safeguarding, Ellen gave us her perspective on working with Special Needs children, and Anne explained how schools teach RE. Thanks to them for their input, and to those of you who came. If you missed out, you can download the report, handouts and presentation above.
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with Diana and Emma in the Bishop's garden on 20th July. We felt very special, and it was lovely to see the wonderful team of volunteers sitting around in the sunshine sipping drinks and in such a stunnning setting. We are so grateful for your very generous gift of money to us both, and we'll let you know what we decide to spend it on.
Sponsored Bike Ride
Congratulations to our friend Roger D
obson, who completed his
epic cycle ride to Santiago de Compostela, raising money for TT in the process. To
mark his 70th birthday, local Town Councillor and Chairman of Southwell Heritage Trust,
is cycled the historic ‘Pilgrim route’ from the French border -
We would like to thank Roger sincerely, and to those of you who donated, for supporting TT in such a brilliant way. Current estimates are that this will have raised nearly £1500.
Robin Hood Half Marathon more
Bishop Paul
We are delighted that Bishop Paul came to join us on 3 days at Time Travelling
to welcome the children, showing them his cope, mitre and crozier. The highlight
was watching him running up and down the aisle between the amazed children and adults,
trying to use his cope to get off the ground and fly!.
