Welcome to the web pages for teachers.
(Go to the bottom of the page for downloads.)

If you are new to Time Travelling and would like more information about the pilgrimage day, click here.

Here you will find all the downloads, news and information you need in planning your visit to Southwell with your children.  We want you to find the whole experience as stress-free as possible, so rest assured that you will always hear a friendly voice when you phone us; we want you and your pupils to feel at home and have a wonderful time.

Sue, the Assistant Manager, is based in our office at the Minster Centre, and she will make sure you have all the information you need in order to prepare for your visit.  Diana and Emma, the Time Travelling Managers, are both primary school teachers, and know first hand what is involved in planning a successful visit, so aim to provide you with materials that are useful, user friendly and relevant.

Below you will find a downloadable Class Book for key stage 1 and one for key stage 2.  These are designed to help you plan for and follow up the visit to Southwell.  There is enough material in each one to make the visit the focus of a whole term's work in RE.   You will also see a "supplement" for the theme of the current year.  The themes alternate between  "Opposites" and "Senses" for key stage 1, and for key stage 2 between "Signs and Symbols" and "People".  The supplementary materials give you information and specific teaching ideas relating to the theme.

The key to a successful visit is organisation and preparation.  We take care of the organisation on the day, here are a few reminders for you to make sure you are prepared.

  • Read your information on the letters from us - especially the final checklist
  • Involve the children in making their badges and organise them into their groups
  • Get the children to check out their web pages on this site so they can look forward to their visit
  • Learn the songs with the children
  • Book a bus (the earlier the better)
